A month ago this election was over

Barack Obama was way out in front. Some polls showing him as high as 10 points ahead.

To make matters worse, Obama was getting ready to launch his victory tour around Europe.

The media is so far entrenched in Obama’s corner; they have even stopped denying that they were in the tank for Barack Obama.

There was no light at the end of the tunnel for John McCain and the Republicans. It was over.

The media and all of the political pundits had declared

Even right here in Wisconsin, Obama’s poll numbers appeared to be out of reach for McCain a few weeks ago. Most polls showed that Obama was up by 13 to 16 points. This is a insurmountable lead in most cases.

For the last few weeks, most of the poll numbers showed Barack Obama’s support sliding. However, McCain’s were not coming up by any significant margin. That has now changed.

According to today’s Zogby/Rueters poll McCain is up by 5 points.

Still this is not a significant margin. However it is a significant overall change. (You know, Barack Obama is all about change)

For the man who would be president a few weeks ago to this, there are some major problems taking place.

This race if virtually tied and Obama should be way up.

Many races are won and lost in August. Most recently, John Kerry lost his edge in August and never recovered.

We will see what happens, but the only presidential candidate panicking today is Barack Obama.
