This move will force all private business owners to pay 9 days of sick leave for every full time employee per year. This covers part time employees too.
Every single business in Milwaukee is in jeopardy.
The council must make sure the legislation is in proper form, then consider it and either pass it or put it on the ballot in the next election for voters to decide.
My guess is that for businesses that cannot afford to pay their employees an extra two weeks of vacation a year though this sick leave, with either eliminate vacation pay all together.
It is bad enough that with the latest proposal of an additional sales tax in Milwaukee will put businesses on an island, but this latest sick leave proposal will also place Milwaukee's businesses out of reach of Milwaukee residents.
Who needs a gas station in Milwaukee?
