What are they afraid of?

Way to go, Alex.

For years, citizens of Pleasant Prairie have been attempting to get Village Board meetings published on the internet, so every citizen in Pleasant Prairie can see what their government is doing.

Year after year, Village President John Steinbrink and his fellow board members have resisted this new technology.

Finally, former village board member, Alex Tianybok took matters into his own hands and began recording village meetings and posting them on the internet.

I blogged about this here.

Apparently the village board has finally seen the light of exposure and voted last night to allow audio recordings to be published- Kenosha News

You'll also be able to hear what goes on during several village commissions and committees, given the unanimous approval Monday night by the Village Board to place digital recordings of these sessions on www.pleasantprairieonline.com. The audio should be posted within two days of each meeting.

Of course, if you really want to be able to understand what is really going on, you would have to be able to "see" who is speaking.

Since the Village board is still having difficulty with video recordings, you can actually "see" these meetings at this website.

Golly gee whiz, it is difficult to understand why those darn politicians in Pleasant Prairie are so camera shy.

Normally politicians love the camera, but not in Pleasant Prairie.

Well, I have been to some of these board meetings and let me tell you, the village board members should be embarrassed. Of course they do not want these meetings published.

I have seen ordinary citizens get up to speak in front of this village board gets there heads ripped off by board members.

That is pathetic.
