Progress we can all celebrate

This is something that people on both sides of the stem cell research debate can celebrate:

If these new cells truly have all the beneficial qualities of embryonic stem cells without hidden hazards, it could pave the way to therapies that do not raise the moral concerns associated with the destruction of embryos or therapeutic cloning. At the same time, the new approach could avoid problems of immune rejection because the cells could be matched to the DNA of the patient.

Congratulations UW and Japanese scientists!

Now, let's do something with this new technology.

It is time to get this stuff out of the research labs and out into the world.

Billions of dollars have been spent looking for cures that have produced little results in the real world.
